first and foremost… happy birthday to my fantastic mother! she said she is turning 29 this year, so with that, happy 29th birthday momma! she blew out candles on homemade cinnamon rolls this morning and i sang happy birthday opera style, it was a fun time. we spend her birthday (memorial weekend) up north at our family cabin every year. i got to spend some one on one time with her and dad this weekend since ryan is busy working and max and brad live out of state. it was a nice treat :)

Obsessing Over: my fantastic view of lake huron right now as i am cuddled up in my mackinaw sweatshirt blanket and sipping on a cup of coffee. this is the place i am obsessing over, our family cabin. and to think its been a full year since i was here! 

Working On: finishing up some day of products for a few june brides, it feels like yesterday we were looking at concepts for save the dates and now its wedding time!

Thinking About: the week ahead of me. i am a to-do list nutball. i probably make one or two each day. i don’t really know how people stay on task without them. i think i have like 3 huge notebooks full of daily to do lists. what was i doing on march 15th? oh ya know, folding 300 programs for the miller/pierce wedding, designing a birthday party invite for jillian, and reminding myself to pick up something green for st. pattys. 

Anticipating: the pivotal decisions to be made in the next few weeks. the makeover in all its entirety! 

Listening To: the waves on the shoreline, the buzz of a humming bird, the sounds of the forest

Wishing: that my brothers were up here to celebrate mom’s birthday with her. wishing it was 75 degrees so i could lay on the beach. wishing i didn’t have to drive 5 hours home in a bit here…

Obsessing Over: these fabulously nautical designs for one of my clients. makes me want to go out on the boat. maybe thats because its supposed to be in the 70’s ALL WEEK LONG! happy as a clam…

Working On: a plethora of projects including my very own save-the-dates. i have had several requests to post a draft of them and my response is… are you crazy?! you can see them when they are done and in your mailbox :) but i do promise to post them on here once they are done and out for delivery.

Thinking About: how excited i am to be officially cutting down hours at my second job. for those of you just tuning in, i work like a crazy person, 40 hours as a receptionist and then another probably 40-60 on peace.love.design. but cutting back is going to give me an opportunity to really expand my business and take things to the next level. 

Anticipating: the big move. shouldn’t be much longer now. i know i have been saying that for weeks. but we are really really close now. i have my office wall color picked out. so.stinking.excited.

Listening To: mumford and sons of course. what else is there!?

Wishing: that my wedding dress was here already. i know when it comes i am not going to get anything done. i will just sit around in it all day with a giant grin on my face :)

Obsessing Over: the new coffee flavors i FINALLY ordered for my keurig. among them my two favorites, island coconut and wild blueberry. i take my coffee very seriously if you hadn’t noticed yet :)

Working On: a makeover of sorts. more to come. also, i get to go pick PAINT colors for the house today! i cannot believe we are finally painting. crazy stuff.

Thinking About: how i need about 4 more hours in each day. at least. i just don’t know how normal people build an empire, renovate a house (ehemm ryan), and work a full time “side” job all at the same time. lets just say there is not a whole lot of sleep, and there are friends and family that get mad at you for not sharing your time with them. but if you want something bad enough, you will work like crazy for it.

Anticipating: sharing all the fun projects from my spring brides. its been an incredible start to 2013 and i am just having a blast with all the designs. coming real soon folks!

Listening To: the ratatat station on pandora. i highly recommend it if you are at all a ratatat fan.

Wishing: that i could spend all day planning the wedding. or working on said “makeover”. or that i could survive on coffee alone. or that we could move into the house today. that would be thebomb.com

now generally monday check-ins consist of details of all the multitasking i have going on that day. but this monday is different.

today marks an incredibly exciting day in mine and ryan’s life. we are closing on our very first house. we could not be more excited.

“pardon our dust” in this blog because i will undoubtedly be documenting the renovations every step of the way!

Obsessing Over: candy cane jo-jo’s… if you shop at trader joes, you’ll know what im talking about. i swear i was going to eat the entire box last night. and now i just might have them for breakfast.

Thinking About: how ahead of schedule i am this christmas season. i am basically done with gifts except for a few stragglers. i even have all my packaging ready. woo!

Listening To: edward sharpe & the magnetic zeros. am i weird for kind of wanting “home” played while i walk down the aisle? ya… maybe the recessional ;) the words are just so incredibly perfect. “let me come home… home is wherever im with you”

Wishing: that it was still sunday. or that i had half this week off of work, or half this month.
